I helped launch Google I/O 2023, one of the largest and most historic events in Google's history.

This year's event unveiled Google's bold and responsible approach to AI, which has been integrated into products across the organization, from hardware to search to Workspace to Cloud. The announcements made at Google I/O solidified its position at the forefront of the AI race. As a result, shares of Alphabet traded at their highest levels–gaining 26% in 2023.

The event was a success, with over 20,000 in-person attendees and over 1 billion views online. The event also generated positive press coverage, with many publications praising Google for its bold and innovative announcements.

Google I/O has evolved from a developer conference into a highly impactful marketing opportunity to speak to the current moment in the technology landscape.

We were intentional in our approach to this year's event identity. The goal was to establish a bold, graphic language that felt optimistic and pioneering.

Our internal design team partnered with &Walsh to create a visual system that took inspiration from scientific concepts, pavilion architecture, and iconic events such as the Olympics, Apollo Space Missions, 50 years of Bauhaus, and many more. We leaned into a daring and bold vision of the future by utilizing modern, graphic, and expressive form. We created a design system that looked to the timeless, iconic, and celebratory.

We teamed up with Instrument to develop an interactive digital experience for the event website.

This year's mainstage presentation included 11 keynote sections. I helped design, animate, and art direct keynotes for hardware, Android, Cloud, developers, and Workspace.

This project was produced at Google with an international team of marketers, product teams, designers, animators, and producers.
