Global X: The Green Economy

“Cleantech” describes the application of technology that reduces negative environmental impacts. While renewable energy production from sources such as wind and solar are the most visible examples of cleantech, also central is conserving energy through storage, building-efficiency and smart-grid applications. All this technology is what keeps green energy moving forward — expanding the landscape for investors.

Global X partnered with the New York Times to highlight the emerging green energy trends. We focused on those that have the biggest potential for impact and why they are poised for growth. The goal of our program was to empower investors and financial advisors by putting these insights into action with Global X as their partner.

As art director of the program, my role was to develop the visual direction of the campaign. Through the use creation of original editorial and custom illustration, we produced a 5-panel FlexXL Mini Story to  meet readers where they are in stream, creating an immersive and engaging reader experience.

Art Direction

The visual direction was to visualize a near-future world, with renewable energy, cleantech and EV technologies. The goal was to depict how investment in renewable energy, cleantech and EV technologies will help us to create a better tomorrow.

The style of the illustration was to communicate to NYT readers that Global X is a company creating positive impact on the future. We developed a modern, friendly aesthetic–one with a geometric foundation, tactile textures, with an overall warm presentation.
